TECHNOLOGY Product Review: Currie Phat Flyer SE Electric Motorized Scooters Znews.com (May 26, 2003)--
The Currie Phat Flyer SE by Currie Technologies was one of the first high quality scooters available. Currie still manufactures these great scooters, but since very recently, no longer sells electric scooters under the Currie brand name. Today, all Currie scooters are sold under the Schwinn, GT and Mongoose brand names. You're likely to find the best prices online with the GT brand scooters, as Schwinn and Mongoose don't allow online sales. You can find a full review of all Currie scooters here. If you're set on buying a Currie Phat Flyer SE, you may still be able to find them available at UrbanScooters.com, where they were selling recently at a discounted price of only $299, with free shipping. UrbanScooters also carries the other Currie GT brand scooters that we review in our Currie Scooter reviews. The 2002 model Phat Flyer SE scooter has been replaced for 2003 by the GT Asteroid (which is basically a Phat Flyer SE with a better motor, and front shocks). The Currie GT Asteroid sells for $399. You can also find more powerful Currie scooters, such as the GT Shockwave or Tsunami, which come with a 600W motor instead of the 350W motor that came with the Phat Flyer. See all Currie Scooter Reviews for more information. |
